Danielle Ryan Writes

A reader at heart, a writer by passion, a learner for life.

Learning is like a windmill, it only keeps turning when you stay curious. Every rotation generates new energy to keep you curious and learning.

Working with teenagers keeps me on my toes. There is always some new TikTok trend to be on top of or new lingo to understand. This coupled with the reduced attention span kids seem to have, I am always looking for new ways to engage and connect. Whether learning from my mistakes or engaging in professional learning, the cycle of learning is never complete. Now my curiosity and focus has shifted to improving my writing. Reading a wider variety of genres and types of material instead of reverting to my comfort reads has been surprisingly rewarding. Having the courage to honestly reflect and u-turn on my original ideas has resulted in rewrite after rewrite and frustratingly slow progress, but what rewarding progress it has been. The more I learn and improve, the more I realise how much more I have to learn and I am looking forward to the journey and keeping my windmill turning.
